Adenium obesum, Desert Rose belongs to Apocynaceae. One representative of Apocynaceae is Oleander.
I made many sketches, more than 100, of Desert Roses this year. Desert Rose is a good name. I never got tired as the shapes of not only the flowers but also the leaves and the stems (somehow awkwardly short) are unique and interesting to see. This may be good for Bonsai.

Step - 1
Applying wire to draw out lines of objects. I use wooden coffee stir sticks, usually more than two to hold more wine. To make a fine line only one stick can be used but wine content is very limited and the line become very short. By using two or more sticks you can hold more ink, similar phenomenon to a brush which contain a fairy amount of ink, but much less amount. You can use a brush but I like wooden coffee stir sticks as they create unexpected lines.
Step - 2 Drying in about one hour depending on the wire quantity, paper, humidity, etc.
Step -3 Applying color ink. I use Chinese ink with several different size Chinese brushes.

The colors after dried depends on
1) the wine you use (and drink afterwards) very much.
I like Carbernet Sauvignon in both after-dried colors (not wine red but gray, often blueish dark gray which I like) and the taste with scent.
2) somehow degree of oxidation (I think) and
3)
how much wine you apply on paper. Thin wine layer drys relatively fast and the color changes in most cases while with thick
layer the color becomes dark (which is not necessarily good) or deep in a
good way and taking more time.
Besides these (mentioned in Wine Paintings Mystery - 2)
4) Paper quality
and
5) Combinations of all the above factors plus some other mysterious unknown factors.
Small amount of wine on tissue paper. Even one month later it still keeps the original wine red. Remarkable in a way.
A large amount of wine on common sketchbook paper. Deep purple.
Quick sketch on the back side of breakfast tray paper, thin and shiny. Blueish light gray.

The remaining color after metamorphosis (in abut one hour) is seldom an original wine red. The outcome usually unpredictable. This is fun.

The above are rather silhouettes by only wine but if you make outlines of an object with wine and remain the inside blank (white) and add color later. See below.
Wine outlines are bold (I used coffee stir sticks - 1 stick or 2-5 sticks together) but somehow controllable. This is fun, too.

The owner of Asnet Art Gallery again like before made a little improvement in his paintings in 2020 especially after summer. Total failures were few made among more than 300 sketches. The best ten were selected from several different categories of flowers + abstract.
This the best one in 2020. This blueish purple vise tree flower is called Tunbergia grandiflora. I happened to find this near but outside of HK Park in early autumn after making many sketches of common orange Campsis grandiflora in HK Botanical Garden. This is a truly unexpected happy encounter. I already introduced this on the top of the other Post titled " Campsis gradiflora " together with some others.
This is the 2nd best. Ficus benjamina. I tried many different ficus trees. But this is the best.
No. 3. Hibiscus but double flower Hisbiscus.
No. 4 Also Hibiscus. Hibiscus Mutabilis. As the name suggests the color of flower changed from white to pink and then to red and dark red and falls to the ground.
No. 5. Chinese wisteria and Honeysuccle
No. 6. Unknown name plant but commonly seen. I used dry brush with Chinese ink.
No. 7. Water Hyacinth or Hotei Aaoi in Japanese.
No,8. Unknown name plant but commonly seen.
The above eight are mostly made in Hong Kong Park and HK (Zoological and)
Botanical Garden. I appreciate the staff there who take care of plants
and flowers, rain or shine, through out the year.
No. 10 Abstract. I made few abstract in 2020.

Wine is a good material or media for painting and mysterious as well. Worth trying.
Wine with Chinese ink.
Wine without color ink. The wine I used for this was a bit special in that it brought an attractive blueish dark gray. See below
Just after putting wine on paper (common sketch book). Wine red color in liquid you can see.
After about one hour the color changed to a an attractive blueish dark gray. But I found that this is rather unusual after having tried some other wine. Usually wine red color remains. See bellow.
