The owner of Asnet Art Gallery made little improvement in his paintings in 2018 though total failures were few among more than 200 sketches. Like last year the 2nd half was better than the 1st half (I do not know why). The best ten were selected from several different categories, ground flowers, shrub flowers, tree flowers, tree flowers with buildings, and somehow abstract.

The Japanese means: A good painter should not feel ashamed in not professional like paintings but feel ashamed in lacking self.
The Chinese means: Great skills value less than being honestly unskillful. (Lao Tze) Great wisdom looks like a fool.

Hibiscuses
I tried many Hibiscuses throughout the year including winter. Hibiscus is not summer flower in Hong Kong. There are several different types and colors. Some of these sketches can be selected as one or two of the best ten if not separately shown here.
Camellias
I also tried some different kinds of Camellias mostly in winter. One of the Camellia sketches are selected on of thr best 10 as shown above.
